When I meet a college representative, what do I ask?

When representatives visit your high school or the College Counseling Center, you can expect to get a great many questions answered about the college or university. If you will not have a chance to visit the institution for an on-campus interview, meeting with the representative in your hometown will provide you with an opportunity to make a good impression, so do a little homework before you meet with the representative.

Listen carefully to the presentation and use the visit to get your questions answered. Does the institution have facilities that complement your major? What happens to freshmen who are undecided about their major? Who comes to the campus to interview juniors and seniors for employment? What percentage of premed students get into medical school? Many other questions can be found in the "College Interview" section of the St. Tammany Parish Public School System College Counseling Handbook.
